We receive a lot of call from people asking us which dock light would work best for their particular needs.  The light you choose really depends how much area you are wanting to illuminate and whether or not you have neighbors close by that the larger flood lights may be intrusive too. Please take a minute to compare all of our AlumiGlo LED Dock Lights shown below and choose the light(s) best light suited for your needs.

All of our dock lights are for “Above Water” use only.  We no longer make or sell underwater lights because they are impossible to keep running for an extended time. The electrical contractors and dock builders we do business with have all moved away from underwater lights and now only install above water lights because they are maintenance free and are not subject to barnacles, hooks and other underwater hazards.

Our above water lights come in two basic categories. “High Intensity Flood Lights” used for illuminating large areas around your dock or pier and “Low Intensity, Direct Lighting” used for lighting the immediate area in front of or under your dock or pier.

Medium Intensity Bar Lights

The DockPro 4500-X3 is a 48-watt, medium intensity 3-Color LED light (Green, Blue, White) with Remote Control which is designed to be mounted on the face of the dock or under the dock and shine down onto the water. Typically, these lights are mounted between 1’ to 4’ above the water and are intended to illuminate the water immediately around the face of the dock. This light uses 45° lenses, and the color is easily changed from Green, Blue, or White using the included Remote Control. In order not to illuminate the entire area, this light uses directional lenses which will illuminate an area 6 ft wide and as much as 20ft forward depending on the angle you set the light at. 4500 Lumens per color.

The DockPro 3,500 is a 44-watt, medium intensity Single Color LED light which is designed to be mounted on the face of the dock or under the dock and shine down onto the water. Typically, these lights are mounted between 1’ to 4’ above the water and are intended to illuminate the water immediately around the face of the dock. This light uses 60° lenses and can be ordered with Green, Blue, or White LEDs. In order not to illuminate the entire area, this light uses directional lenses which will illuminate an area 6 ft wide and as much as 20ft forward depending on the angel you set the light at. 3500 Lumens.

The DockPro 5500-X3 is a 50-watt, medium intensity 3-Color LED light (Green, Blue, White) with Remote Control which is designed to be mounted on the face of the dock or under the dock and shine down onto the water.  This (5) piece light set is much more versatile than the bar lights because it uses (5) separate light heads spaced 4 ft apart which allows you to illuminate much more area. It is the perfect light set for mounting under docks and piers because the IR sensor and power supply are not attached to the lights where they can be damaged during high tides and storm surges. The light set consists of (5) removeable, 10W, powder-coated light heads which produce 5,500 Lumens per color.

High Intensity Flood Lights

The DockPro 16,000 is a 150-watt, high intensity LED flood light which is usually mounted anywhere from 6 ft to 8 ft above the water. This light is available in 120° wide flood or 60° medium flood for those who want a more direct beam of light on the water’s surface.  The bracket allows you to rotate the light 180-degrees for your angle preference. The 120° model is available in Green, Blue, or White and the 60° model is available in Green only. 16,203 Lumens.

The DockPro 26000 will is a 250-watt, high intensity LED flood light which is usually mounted anywhere from 8 ft to 20 ft above the water.  This light uses a 120° wide angle reflector and is a great light for large piers and open areas where the light will not bother close by neighbors.  The bracket allows you to rotate the light 180-degrees for your angle preference.  26,250 Lumens.

Lights by Comparison

The comparison chart below makes it simple to compare important information such as Lumens, Watts, and Amps. Please keep in mind that the DockPro 16000, and DockPro 26000 lights are high intensity flood lights which close by neighbors may not like. If you have neighbors, you may want to consider using the DockPro 4500-X3, DockPro 3,500, or the DockPro 5500-X3 lights which are designed to illuminate the water directly in front of the dock and not the surrounding area. If you intend on mounting lights under your dock or pier which may be prone to storm surges, the DockPro 5500-X3 is the best choice since it is the most waterproof light we make.
